Today’s the 25th birthday of the ZX Spectrum. Naturally, here at YS3 we’re well-prepared for just such an event – we’re going out for an unreasonably large quantity of beer to toast the happy event, and (amongst other things) watching the new 1988 Rock’nRoll Years documentary video. We’re also going to spend at least a minute sitting in awe at the fact that after twenty-five years Clive’s babies still work. I mean, it’s not like they were ever state-of-the-art, top-of-the-line hardware to begin with. And a few of them (my first included) are Amstrad machines, too.
But I digress. Here’s to the Spectrum, and another 25 years!
This deserves a YS quote:
“Mine’s a pint of vodka. Cheers! And another. Csheers! Asnd jush… one more…sheers.”
The Speccy should of course be toasted with Tizer or Irn Bru, followed by Space Dust and Monster Munch.
Tch, 25 years, eh? Quarter of a cen… no, it doesn’t bear thinking about.
Cheers! (Gulp, fizzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz) AAAAAARGH! Itsh a wunner I shurvived childhood, shtuffing that shtuff in my gob day in, day out. Cripesh.
